Spring is upon us and our thoughts turn to fun and frolicking in the sunshine.
One of the high points of every Portland summer for the last 3 years has been the Playground summer park parties. Each year we gather in the park on a summer afternoon and offer free music, dancing, community, and family-friendly fun. DJ’s and live electronic artists bring you through a day of picnicking, beats, smiles and play.
In order to keep these free events sustainable we hold a Fundraiser Benefit each year, and I am pleased to announce this year’s Fundraiser:
A showcase of Tribal and Underground music, dance, art and culture with a Prohibition-era Theme. Think ragtime, mobster, art deco meets the 21st century electronic dance age.

Every 1st Thursday of the month we set up the turntables and the hi-fi at Vino Vixens Wine Bar and bring you IMMERSION -complete with a selection of music meant to soothe you, relax you, and tantalize your mind. Expect a warm, cozy atmosphere with the finest in downtempo, lounge, IDM, Balearic, chillout, nu-jazz, dub, ambient and electronica. Each installment brings in a healthy-sized crowd of interesting folks to mingle with. Also, enjoy a game on the *free* pool table or grab one of the board games on the games shelf. The atmosphere is focused on the music, but it’s not too loud to relax on one of the couches and have a good conversation.
And the best part is it’s FREE!!!

Vino Vixens is at 2929 SE Powell in Portland, OR. Immersion takes place each 1st Thursday from 8:00 PM until Midnight.
Come for the beats, come for the wine, come for some casual hanging with good peeps - just make sure you come! There’s no cover. You’ll be glad you made it out - we promise!
And as we always advise, please note the EARLY start time and finish time. Immersion is intended to be an EVENING - not a night out. We start at 8PM sharp and it’s over at Midnight… so don’t sleep on it. Get out there and enjoy your after-dinner drinks with us.
