Immersion continues with a series of 4 summer events on an outdoor patio!
Spring is upon us and our thoughts turn to fun and frolicking in the sunshine.
One of the high points of every Portland summer for the last 3 years has been the Playground summer park parties. Each year we gather in the park on a summer afternoon and offer free music, dancing, community, and family-friendly fun. DJ’s and live electronic artists bring you through a day of picnicking, beats, smiles and play.
In order to keep these free events sustainable we hold a Fundraiser Benefit each year, and I am pleased to announce this year’s Fundraiser:
A showcase of Tribal and Underground music, dance, art and culture with a Prohibition-era Theme. Think ragtime, mobster, art deco meets the 21st century electronic dance age.

$5-$10 suggested donation – all proceeds will be used to throw free outdoor daytime park parties in the summer!
Every 1st Thursday of the month we set up the turntables and the hi-fi at Vino Vixens Wine Bar and bring you IMMERSION -complete with a selection of music meant to soothe you, relax you, and tantalize your mind. Expect a warm, cozy atmosphere with the finest in downtempo, lounge, IDM, Balearic, chillout, nu-jazz, dub, ambient and electronica. Each installment brings in a healthy-sized crowd of interesting folks to mingle with. Also, enjoy a game on the *free* pool table or grab one of the board games on the games shelf. The atmosphere is focused on the music, but it’s not too loud to relax on one of the couches and have a good conversation.
And the best part is it’s FREE!!!

Vino Vixens is at 2929 SE Powell in Portland, OR. Immersion takes place each 1st Thursday from 8:00 PM until Midnight.
Come for the beats, come for the wine, come for some casual hanging with good peeps – just make sure you come! There’s no cover. You’ll be glad you made it out – we promise!
And as we always advise, please note the EARLY start time and finish time. Immersion is intended to be an EVENING – not a night out. We start at 8PM sharp and it’s over at Midnight… so don’t sleep on it. Get out there and enjoy your after-dinner drinks with us.
On the tail of the amazing weather that just rolled into Portland we are pleased to kickstart the summer with the first of 3 of our free outdoor park parties – This one in the absolutely epic Cathedral Park.
We have a number of special guests on top of the usual Playground crew – Two live performances by hometown heroes – Rena Jones & b0t23. Rena is celebrating the release of her new album and b0t23 (who you may remember packing the floor and killing it at our winter fundraiser) will be doing a special hardware live pa. We are also pleased to be joined by the amazing Mercedes who is new to the playground events but no stranger to Portlands dancefloors.

Join the playground crew as we create an immersive themed space for late night exploration complete with live painting, elaborate art installations, visuals and space shaping with the cherry on top – pristine clean KV2 sound. Help raise funds to support the 3rd straight year of free summer outdoors daytime events.
Tickets are on a sliding scale $10-20(you can give more if you would like to support the cause)

busting out his fresh take on organic au natural deserts and treats you may do several double takes at the paradoxical yet perfectly balanced flavors you find on your tongue – from his green nectar agave seaweed sauce to peanut butter graham cracker chocobombs you’ll be sure to find something for your palette
Visuals / live painting:
Ryan Johnson – One of Seattles fastest rising stars in the live painting scene Ryan has been mesmerizing crowds as he conjures images and scenes out of thin air in his signature style.
Phidelity & Jeremie- kris phidelity brings his experience as a longtime designer into the realms of space shaping to transform the “Luna Room” into a calm tranquil space with 6 foot window paintings framed by large madrona trees with many hanging candles. He will also be incorporating several extremely high resolution 5′x5′ fractals into the space
Christian & Michelle – known for his meticulous collage work and outdoor event deco christian will be heading the “Sol Room”
David Heskin / Aloria Weaver – Live painting
Sound – Starborne sound – If you havent heard the KV2 sound system you are in for a treat – these little boxes have some of the highest fidelity out there and they make great music sound even better! Come hear this system play the music it was made for.
