Playground is a Portland, OR based production crew focusing on creating free outdoor summertime dance events.  We bring family-friendly fun, sunshine-drenched beats, and positive community vibes to Portland Public Parks!

Playground was born on Sept. 9, 2007 at our first outdoor daytime gathering. The project exists thanks to the contributions of a growing multitude of friends whose energies are coordinated by Jack Cranley (DJ Jacaranda) and Kris Northern (DJ Phidelity).

Here’s a little about your coordinators:

Jack Cranley aka Dj Jacaranda, was the initial driving force in formulating Playground.  Jack felt there weren’t enough family-friendly events with positive-vibe music in Portland and sought to remedy that situation.  As a DJ, he strives for versatility and responsiveness to the crowd - but tends towards melodic varieties of House, Breaks, Cosmic Disco, Balearic, and Downtempo.  Jack provides all the logistical support for these events: Permits, venue deals, working with the city and general, all around on-top-of-the-ball-ness.

Kris aka Phidelity is a audio/visual nerd with a penchant toward the fractal side of things. He is a long standing member of many electronic communities and has been steady in the love for this scene & music since 1993. Kris is the web master, does graphic design and general bang-your-head-against-the-wall-because-this-isnt-working-the-way-its-supposed-to support.
